Project Manager - Horizontal Directional Drilling

Construction company specialized in the installation of pipelines under natural or artificial obstacles focusing on Horizontal Directional Drilling techniques.

We are seeking a Project Manager in Brazil who will be responsible for the end to end planning and execution of the project, including contract and financial management and guaranteeing all the aspects of the project are aligned with companies policies, local laws and client's specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• The Project Manager is the highest authority on the project

• Acts as the company representative to clients

• Ensures company policies are respected on the project

• Responsible for proper contract execution and financial management.
• Ensures the safety of employees, visitors, subcontractors, etc.

Project Planning

• Ensure the technical and contractual handover of the project, defining project objectives deliverables and timelines;
• Respond to the client’s specifications (technical, administrative, and contractual) 
• Establish a “zero” budget

Pre-construction Phase

• Delegate tasks and ensure follow-up on their execution by the project team;

• Coordinate the preparation of Specific Instructions;

• Supervise the preparation of materials and orders;

• Coordinate and monitor the obtaining of various permits (client, contractor, and subcontractor)

• Coordinate the preparation of documentation and ensure its validation according to the MDR

• Ensure that personnel have the required clearances, training, and medical examinations for the project;

• Coordinate the engagement of subcontractors and suppliers according to current procedures (identification, orders, contracts, etc.)
  
  

Execution Phase

• Comply with the IPs and procedures created for the project.

• Ensure the proper implementation of necessary insurance for the site;

• Ensure the correct application of guarantees in accordance with the contract;

• Coordinate the delivery of materials to the site;

• Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of personnel and the supervision of subcontractors on-site;

• Ensure proper monitoring of the main project contract (with the Contract Manager) and contracts with other parties (subcontractors, service providers, suppliers, etc.)

• Ensure the daily report is issued correctly;

• Ensure all additional work is carried out under signed amendments

• Monitor incurred costs and update end-of-project forecasts as per RAF frequency;

• Coordinate the deployment of ethics and compliance procedures for the project;

• Approve purchase orders and invoices from suppliers and subcontractors and ensure correct invoicing from the company to the client;

• Monitor project cash flow (anticipate billing and negotiate payment terms with suppliers and subcontractors effectively)

• Ensure the client's validation of the “As-built” pack (final documentation);

• Ensure provisional and final acceptance of the works, including from subcontractors

• Request acceptance certificates, performance certificates, satisfaction surveys, etc. from clients

• Prepare and present the project feedback (technical, contractual, etc.);

Main

Solid experience in horizontal directional drilling (HDD) techniques;

Understanding of technical parameters impacting HDD works (geology, geometry, drilling fluid, ballasting, etc.);

Knowledge of HDD-specific equipment and tools;

Understanding of drilling fluid parameters depending on geological conditions and tools used;

Proficiency in Portuguese and English;

Availability for travel

This position is 6-on, 1-off shift;
